Railway passengers can order food via WhatsApp; Know how

Indian Railways now allows passengers to order food via WhatsApp. To use the service, passengers connect to +91 8750001323. It’s available on select trains initially, with plans to expand based on feedback.

Customers can also order food via IRCTC’s Food on Track app and website. No app download is needed for WhatsApp orders. Currently, around 50,000 meals are served daily through IRCTC’s e-catering services.

The process occurs in two phases:

  • After booking, passengers receive a WhatsApp message directing them to IRCTC’s e-catering website to order meals.
  • In phase two, WhatsApp will become an interactive platform with an AI-powered chatbot to handle queries and meal bookings.

Indian Railways aims to enhance passenger convenience with this new initiative.
